Empowering Katutura’s youth through education, sports, and community development.

Daily Program

Age Groups & Activities

  • Day Care (0–5 years): Early childhood development with play-based learning.
  • Afterschool Care (6–10 years): Homework support, literacy, and introductory basketball.
  • Rookies (11–13 years): Basketball fundamentals, life skills, and mentorship.
  • Juniors (14–16 years): Advanced sports training + leadership workshops.
  • Seniors (17–19 years): College prep, career guidance, and competitive basketball.
    Key Features:
  • Daily nutritious meals for all 112 participants.
  • Holiday camps, academic tutoring, and HIV/AIDS awareness workshops.

Changing Mindsets Community Project

Inclusions:

  • Afterschool Clubs: Basketball (100 players), soccer (100 players), and spelling bees (50 children).
  • Weekly PE Training: Reaches 500+ learners in Katutura schools (grades 1–4).
    Key Features:
  • Daily meals for 250 participants.
  • Funded by BMZ through Zukunft für Kinder in Slums e.V.

BAS Vikings & Falcons Teams

Competitive Basketball:

  • Vikings (Men): 22 players competing in the Khomas Basketball Association (KBA) league.
  • Falcons (Women): 15 players breaking barriers in women’s sports.
    Key Features:
  • Composed of BAS alumni.
  • Regular league games, teamwork training, and leadership development.

University & Senior Support

Opportunities:

  • Scholarships: 8 seniors enrolled in university (2024) with life skills prep and taxi allowances.
  • Career Development: Alumni like Jacobina Uushona (Master’s in Sports Management, South Korea).

  • Volunteer-to-work programs.
  • Partnerships with NNOC and German Embassy for global opportunities.

Skills Training & Day Care
